About

Who is Sarah?

Sarah is a devoted mother, wife, sibling and friend who has been courageously battling stage IV metastatic breast cancer for the past four years and is currently in palliative care. At just 45, she exemplifies incredible strength and resilience in the face of this horrendous disease. As members of her family, we’ve seen how this has impacted so many aspects of her life, and we feel it is now essential to reach out to others to help ease her burden in any way we can.

In a world full of perfectly mediocre people, Sarah stands out as a true diamond in the rough. She is riotously funny and emotionally generous, which is only further complimented by her sharp wit. She has a laugh so wild it crashes through rooms. She is so painfully loyal to the ones she loves that we often “neglect” to tell her if someone has hurt us for fear the other person might wake up dead the following morning. Her presence creates an atmosphere of joy and laughter that no one ever wants to leave. Sarah’s true joys are her two amazing sons, her husband and dog Layla, family and her beloved Chicago Bears, who can’t seem to win any games to save their lives. There isn’t a concert or a game that she’s missed when it came to supporting her sons’ musical talents. She’s the type of person who sends a 7-layer cake in the mail as a birthday gift. She’s a former firefighter. If she became president, her first order of business would be to ban cotton balls and clowns from the United States. And when it comes to her convictions, Sarah doesn’t just talk the talk, she is 100% the person who walks the walk too — she’ll be the first one on the streets advocating for a better world, standing alongside others who are also demanding positive change. Despite her ongoing health challenges, she has remained overwhelmingly upbeat, dealing with the hand she’s been dealt with a tremendous amount of grace and resilience. Sarah continues to work tirelessly to provide for her family while still being there for all of us, even on her toughest days.

What can we say — she’s cool, smart, hilarious, loyal and most of all, a remarkable soul worth fighting for.

On behalf of all of us who love Sarah dearly, we sincerely thank you for your generosity, compassion, and support.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Sarah’s family, friends and loved ones

Why She Needs Your Help

Sarah’s medical bills and treatment costs have been mounting, adding financial strain to an already overwhelming situation. Despite having health insurance, a number of essential treatments and medications are either minimally covered or not at all. Additionally, the ongoing weekly chemo treatments and its physical impacts has made it increasingly difficult for Sarah to maintain her work hours, leading to shifts in her insurance and yet more additional costs. By contributing to Sarah’s GoFundMe page, you can help ease this financial burden on Sarah and her family, while reminding her of the incredible community of people who are eager to support and uplift her heart and soul during this time.
